Principal's Message
Our year 7 and 8 students had three stunning days for their camp at Orton Bradley Park.
Stay tuned for newsletter articles in the coming week along with photographs of their adventures. There were a few tired faces coming back into school at 3pm today! Thank you to Eve and Rachel for the excellent organisation and smooth running of the camp, Adventure Specialties for running the coasteering, kayaking and high ropes and to all the parent helpers for getting stuck in with the kids to ensure a fun time for all. It was a pleasure having the opportunity to get to know the children in this way through their camp experiences.
Next week sees staff involved in additional training for a perceptual motor programme in the junior school which we plan to implement shortly. This was previously running in both Lyttelton schools to support concentration, focus and readiness for learning through a variety of movement based activity.
Our school kapa haka group is performing at the Lyttelton Library reopening on Monday starting at 9:30am.
Kath Bee - songs4kids is visiting with Takaroa on Wednesday afternoon and a number of staff have their second day of IYT training to support them with tips, techniques and strategies to positively manage student behaviour.
The South East Zone Swimming Sports is held on Friday at Jelly Park with a large contingent of Lyttelton Primary students in attendance.
Welcome to Issabelle Byers who starts a teaching placement with Rachel Ono in Kowhai as a third year student teacher.
Reminder about the Parent Information Evening this Wednesday 15th starting at 7pm (6:45pm refreshments!) Look forward to seeing you there.
