Cross country

Tessa Jameson-Timo —

On Monday the 21st of May all (most) students of our school LPS took part in Cross Country. In the morning of Monday the sun was shining and looked to be a great day for running. Buses took the years 1-4 to Ferrymead Park where they were going to run. The run course for the juniors was a lap around the lush grass that was slightly damp but made it fun!

Later on the years 5-8 were transferred to Ferrymead to participate in a slightly different course for running. The course ran next to the road and went through the bike course. It was a bumpy track but overall it was definitely fun for most.

When people ran in the course you could see how much they persevered to overcome the run and I believe that through the races everyone turned into lyttel REP’s and reflected the schools values well.

When I ran my race with the year seven girls I had and tried to persevere through my race but I got injured and was forced to stop.

With my time on the sideline watching the other races I saw everyone do their best and keep their pace which was AMAZING! The people who ran the whole way of the course in the year 5-8 section and came from 1-6th will participate in the zones track and we hope they do well!
