Artist Workshops
In the lead up to the Peninsula Art Auction (3-4 August) we have the privilege of hosting 10 artist-led workshops for LPS children on Monday 29th July.
We would like to extend a big thank you to the local artists, many of whom have pieces in the auction, who are providing their time and effort for this.Children have been able to select from the following offerings:
Caine Tauwhare (Maori ‘mask’ drawing), Liliana Sequeira (Urban sketching), Mario Luz (Urban sketching), Alex Hallett (Cartooning), Jessie Rawcliffe (Observational drawing- Native bird), Kim Hennessey (Charcoal drawing), Kate McRae (collage), Ari Nicholson (stop-motion movies) Jacob Chick (photography), Joe Bowen (Rope making).
It should be a fantastic morning of creativity and learning. We are still looking for a few more parents to join in and assist so if you have time on Monday 29th please come to the staff room at 9am.This opportunity has been created by the hard work of Andrea Solzer, Ruth Connor and Francie Graham and enthusiastically supported by the rest of the school. In addition we have have an artist in residence day on Tuesday 30th with 10 artists working on their own projects within the school and classrooms, enabling the children to see their artistic processes and their works taking shape over time. We would like to acknowledge the generosity of spirit and enthusiasm of these great creatives. Thank you!
