Principal's Message
The term is quickly progressing and we have been fortunate to have some beautiful weather over the past week for the children to make the most of our play areas.
The group of visiting principals, board members and the MOE who met with me at school on Thursday were very impressed following their tour through the school. They couldn't get over the views from the windows, the size of spaces and layout of our play areas. The children were engaged in learning on a hot afternoon despite a whole group of people wandering through and admiring the spaces. Our children are certainly capable of conversing confidently about their learning and what they do at school, a testament to the work of the staff and the opportunities children have to practise the key competencies on a daily basis. (managing self, relating to others, participating and contributing, thinking, using language symbols and texts)
There are a couple of good articles in this week's newsletter to introduce the the work the school is doing on 'Positive Behaviour for Learning', well worth a read.
A parent information meeting is scheduled for Wednesday 15 March from 6pm. Please feel welcome to join us to learn more about initiatives and learning underway for the year and to clarify some faq and shared messages from the staff. More details to follow.
It's a lovely day for the pool picnic this afternoon. This kicks off at 5pm....come and see me on the BBQ!
Kind regards
