Persuasive & Creative Writing
In Raupo, we have been learning to write Persuasive text & Creative stories during literacy time.
Here is a sample of students work for you to enjoy:
Children should do chores to earn pocket money
We should do chores for money? Because when we are older we need to know the value of money, when you want something really bad you don't beg and if you are in high school you can save for university.
We need to save. When your older you need to get money for jobs and other things, like if you're a mum you need money.
Why do we need money? Because we won’t be alive without money, food and water. We need to go to swim in the pools sometimes.
We never know when we need money. By Desire
My kiwis at the rowing races??
CAUTAIN:THIS MAY CONTAIN MAD MAGIC.
Hi, my name is Charlie.
And I own 2 kiwis named Zac and Lily.
This story takes place at the rowing races.
Here I am on the side of the river, waiting for the first rowers to come through.
I wonder, it could be Australia or New Zealand, who knows.
Here come the first place winners, they come round the corner.
OMG, they are animals, animals!!!
I look closer and they’re Lilly and Zac, my kiwis!
But I never thought they would come first.
That's weird because when we left, I locked their cage, I guess that's just magic.
They are really fast.
GO,GO,GO is all I think as I run towards the finish line.
They cross it in first place.
The judges are shocked.
Just then all that was going around it my head was ̈please say animals were allowed to race ̈
Second was Australia and I looked over to see the Kangaroos , oh my god.
Third was Canada with Beavers.
Fourth was South Africa with the Springboks.
Fifth was England with Barbary Lions.
I could go on and on and on and on and on.
But I think you get the point.
It comes to prize giving and the judges come out.
“ The real judges will now reveal themselves"
And out came a lion, a zebra, a kiwi and a beaver.
̈ ̈Welcome to the annual prize giving of the animal rowing races. Third place is Kate and Jed the Canadian Beavers, Second place is Leah and Bob the Australian Kangaroos and First place goes to Zac and Lily the NZ Kiwis.” says the Lion.
Everyone clapped.
This day was weird but amazing.
