The children in Harakeke are all learning about 2d shapes in maths this week.

Janet and Francie's group are using shapes to learn about symmetry.

Beccy's maths groups are exploring the features and attributes of shapes through an art lens as well as learning their Te Reo Māori names.

The tamariki are so proud of their artworks using shapes. They have been super creative in identifying the right shape to represent the picture they envisage. We have had super rich discussion around the attributes a shape has, that make it perfect to show, for example, an animal body part, or the front of a tank!

Tino pai tamariki mā!
