Why is the brain important

Have you ever wondered why you need a brain? The brain is a wonderful organ but it is very complex. In this explanation writing piece, I will explain why you need a brain to keep you alive and healthy.

The brain is located in the head just above the eyes. The brain is protected by the skull and it is the size of two clenched fists with your palms facing each other. The brain feels no physical pain because it has no pain receptors. The parts of the brain are the cerebellum, optical lobe, frontal lobe, parietal lobe, brain stem, and temporal lobe. The cerebellum controls movement and balance. The optical lobe controls vision and memory. The frontal lobe controls speech. The parietal lobe controls sight, taste, hearing, touch and smell. The brain stem sends chemical signals around the body. The temporal lobe controls information. The brain's squiggly lines are unique like your thumb print. The squiggly are called sulci, they store all the knowledge.

The brain is complex. Have you ever wondered how your body knows when to kick a ball or itch your nose? Well, it's all because of your brain through something called neuro veins. So, if you needed to itch your leg it would send a message to the brain to say itch me. If your brain stopped sending messages there would be life changing effects. They would still send signals but not smoothly.

If your brain stopped working you would go into a coma where you wouldn’t have any control over your body.

Overall, the brain is an important organ because it controls memory, movement, sight, taste and lots more.
