Year 6 Camp Exploits
What an amazing time was had by all. The children were incredible, and so were the parent helpers!
Visit this articleKia ora koutou,
I want to take the opportunity to say a BIG thank you to our hardworking staff for their dedication and commitment to our kura and tamariki this term. I had the pleasure of showing some kaiako from East Taieri School and a prospective parent around our kura on Wednesday and our visitors were so impressed by the fantastic things that were going on in classrooms. It has been an excellent Term 1.
I wanted to take this opportunity to also thank all our whānau members that have ferried tamariki off to various events, sports, coached and managed teams, helped at and organised our school fair, as well as our wonderful helpers at Year 6 camp. THANK YOU!
I wanted to make special mention of the wonderful Fiona Jack who has been the president of the Whānau & School since 2021. Fiona is stepping down from this position as she is heading on a great adventure overseas with her whānau for the rest of the year. We have so appreciated her calm, consistent and organised approach to leading our Whānau and School fundraising team over the past few years. The Whānau and School team have worked so hard to support our school. Their fundraising efforts allow our school to be able to purchase resources and experiences for the tamariki that our very tight and stretched funding from the MOE does not. Thank you Fiona for all you mahi. We're really going to miss you!
A reminder that ANZAC Day falls in the second week of the school holidays. There is a memorial service being held at the Macandrew Bay Hall at 10am. We have a few of or tamariki involved and we would love to see as many whānau join us if you are in the bay to commemorate New Zealanders killed in war and honour our returned and serving servicemen and women.
Thank you to Rātā class for leading our Whānau Assembly today. It is hard to believe that these tamariki are just 6 and 7. Thank you for performing the monster mash, it brought back great memories for me!
I wish everyone a wonderful term break. If you are travelling these holidays- Kia haumaru te haere!
