MUNRO AND DAMIAN'S PIANO EXAM SUCCESS!
It's wonderful to see two Mackenzie College students achieving such remarkable success in their piano exams! Their hard work and dedication to music are truly commendable. Congratulations to them both!
Munro recently sat his Contemporary Piano Level Two Practical Exam with the NZ Modern School of Music, passing with 'Honours' and an impressive score of 134/150. His syllabus included:
Technical Work: Scales, Arpeggios, Inversions
Study: Arranging and performing from memory a selection of 12 bars from chosen music
Sight Reading: Playing an unseen piece of music
Pieces: Performing three songs
Own Composition: Writing, playing, and naming his own piece of music
Viva Voce: Answering questions about his composition, including the inspiration, type and style of the music, and the composition process used
Munro will now move on to studying for his next exam in November, where he will sit his Grade Three Theory Exam.
Damian also achieved outstanding results, sitting his Grade One Piano Theory Exam through the internationally recognised Associated Board of the Royal Schools of Music.
Not only did Damian achieve a 'Distinction' endorsement, he also scored a perfect 100% – a rare and impressive accomplishment.
