MACKENZIE COLLEGE COAST TO COAST CREW DO US PROUD!
Year after year, Mackenzie College continues to rally an exceptional group of students, past and present, as well as some phenomenal staff members, to compete in one of New Zealand's most demanding adventure races, 'The Coast to Coast'. Once again, our remarkable team has showcased incredible grit and determination, making us proud with their outstanding performances.
This year, our Mackenzie College team showcased exceptional talent and dedication in 'The Coast to Coast' adventure race. The team consisted of Bella Parke, who tackled the run segment, Jack Cassie handling the kayak leg, and Ceara Harris powering through the bike stage. Their collective effort earned them an impressive 8th place in the mixed schools category.
Notably, our English teacher Fiona Cutler and Sports coordinator Kim Jordan achieved remarkable feats, securing 2nd and 4th positions respectively in the one-day veterans’ category, a testament to their skill and determination.
In another highlight, Kelly Cassie, Head of Physical Education, teamed up with former Head Student Hamish Ryall in the two-person 2-day teams’ race, demonstrating resilience and teamwork.
Additionally, our Library Manager, Bron Williams, and Luke Jordan, the 2023 Deputy Head Student, competed in the two-day individual race, with Luke finishing an impressive 3rd.
Congratulations to these outstanding students and staff, acknowledging not only their remarkable results but also the countless hours of training and dedication invested in preparing for this event.
We also extend our gratitude to the support teams who worked tirelessly behind the scenes throughout the weekend, and the families and friends whose support and encouragement was wonderful to see!
