BOOK WEEK

Last week, we celebrated books by holding several "Book Tastings" in the library across all the junior classes. This was such a fun way to enjoy books together, share favourites and discover genres that perhaps some students may not have thought about trying! Bron became Mademoiselle Bron, a French cafe waiter. She delighted students with her French accent by transforming the library into a delightful French cafe. The idea behind "Book Tasting" is to encourage students to "taste" books that they may not have known were out there. This is done by looking at the covers, reading the blurb and reading the first chapter, and then completing a "menu" or recording sheet to rate each book they sampled. It was lovely to hear students make comments like, "I would never have known that I might actually like poetry books!"
