2026 TOUCH

Elissa Jones —

SEASON START - TERM 1 & TERM 4

Mahurangi College takes pride in our successful touch rugby program, competing at North Harbour, Auckland, and National tournaments.

We welcome players of all skill levels—from beginner to elite—across boys’, girls’, and mixed grades. Many of our students progress to represent North Harbour and New Zealand in various age groups.

SENIOR TOUCH - TERM 1

Premier Teams: Play Monday evenings in the Greater Auckland competition.
All other Senior Teams: Play Tuesday evenings at North Harbour.

Where numbers allow, some Year 9–10 students may be able to participate. We welcome Year 9/10 students; however, if numbers do not allow, they may be asked to participate in the Year 9/10 module during Term 4 instead.

Year 7/8: Please note this is open to College students only. Year 7/8 students are not approved to take part in college sporting activities.

Registration:

All Senior players must register before trials. Please complete the form prior to attending your first trial.

VOLUNTEERS

We’re seeking managers, coaches, and officials/referees to support our touch program. If you’re interested, please get in touch and let us know your availability.

To attend trips, assist with transport, and to manage or coach teams, all parents/caregivers must be Police Vetted (under the Vulnerable Children’s Act 2014). Once you have been vetted through a school this is valid for 3 years. However, prior Police checks with other institutions are not valid.

For more information, and to download vetting forms, see our website: Parent Help.
