iPad Rental Scheme
The Board of Trustees runs a rental scheme to allow every student the opportunity to have a device. Preference is given to applicants with financial hardship.
At Mahurangi College we expect every student in Year 7-13 to have their own device at the start of the school year.
Please note: The device has to have a minimum screen size of 7.9 inches, therefore a phone is NOT regarded as an appropriate device for this purpose.
The Mahurangi College Board of Trustees have approved a rental scheme* which will be used to allow every student the opportunity to have a device.
*Preference would be given to applications where there is financial hardship, please note that there is a limited number of devices available.
The Rental Scheme functions as follows:
Interested parents/caregivers sign up to the scheme at a cost of $100/year (to be paid in advance or AP setup of $2.50 a week for 40 weeks)
- If the iPad is returned before the end of the year,
your account will be credited accordingly- No refunds will be given for part of a term
You can opt out of this scheme at any time by returning the device and charger to B11.
Students will receive an iPad in a cover for protection (please do not remove this)
Successful applicants will be notified when their device is ready and can be picked up from B11 - Computer Centre
The device remains the property of Mahurangi College at all times
The device must be brought to school every day – fully charged
Device and charger must be returned to the Computer Centre the week before school ends.
Device and charger must be returned before leaving the college permanently.
The iPad will be set up with the necessary software your student's needs, and given a unique password.
This password is not to be shared OR changed and the settings must NOT be tampered with.
Damage:
All iPads and chargers will be monitored for damage.
If damage occurs within the rental period, it must be reported immediately to the IT Department in B11.
It is the parents/caregivers responsibility to cover any costs incurred for repairs.
Screen repair cost is approx: $80-$120 (if the LCD is also damaged, cost will be more)
If damage occurs more than once, the school will investigate and reserves the right to terminate a rental if they deem it necessary.
