Please see this term's update from the Mairehau Primary Board
Kia ora whānau,
As we enter the final weeks of the term, there’s a real sense of anticipation around the school. Summer is just around the corner, and our students are full of energy as we head toward the Christmas break.
This time of year offers us a valuable moment to reflect on the progress our school has made. We’ve seen strong engagement across the classrooms, positive growth in student learning, and a continued sense of belonging that makes Mairehau Primary such a supportive place for our tamariki.
Nationally, education has seen a lot of discussion and change recently, and we know many whānau will be following these developments closely. As a Board, our focus remains steady: ensuring Mairehau Primary continues to provide a safe, encouraging, and high-quality learning environment, regardless of the wider shifts happening across the sector. Please see our open letter to you our community attached in regard to reaffirming our strong commitment to giving effect to Te Tiriti o Waitangi in all aspects of our school's life and direction.
Over the past term, we’ve continued to monitor our strategic goals, support our staff, and plan ahead for 2026. We’re proud of the dedication shown by our teachers and support staff, whose daily efforts make a real difference for every learner.
As we approach the summer break, we want to acknowledge the collective effort of our community. Thank you for the support you give your children and our school; it strengthens everything we do.
We look forward to finishing the year positively and welcoming everyone back refreshed and ready for the opportunities ahead.
Ngā mihi nui,
