CELEBRATE EASTER WITH NGĀ MANU NATURE RESERVE

Hop on in to Ngā Manu this Easter Weekend.

Over $3,000 worth of sponsored prizes to be won. Children can join in the

annual Easter Rock Hunt around the reserve searching for chocolate Easter

eggs. If they luck in and find the rare decorated wooden eggs also hidden, they

win a lucky dip sponsored prize.


Waikanae, Kapiti Coast — Ngā Manu Nature Reserve’s Easter celebrations

run every day throughout the long weekend from Friday 7 th April to

Monday 10 April inclusive.


Running for the third consecutive year, the ever-popular Easter Rock

Hunt will occur daily Friday to Monday. Children are tasked to find the

decorated easter rocks hidden around the reserve to win a chocolate

Easter Egg. If they find one of the special large eggs, they win a lucky dip

sponsored prize. Prizes include family passes to Pūkaha, Staglands,

Wellington Zoo or Coastlands Aquatic Centre with water slide,

Southwards Car Museum and so much more.


Ngā Manu’s celebrations also include an Easter scavenger hunt nature

trail, face painting, an onsite colouring competition and an Easter Egg

wishing tree.


There will be daily appearances from Keri the Easter Kiwi who will be

available for selfies and family photos, and a sausage sizzle and hot & cold

drinks tent on site. Families can bring a picnic and blanket and make a day

of it.


The iconic eel talks, and pole feed will run at 12pm and 2pm daily during

the school holidays.
