Athletics Day 

All my friends together - A'o

TeamworkHigh standardsLoud noise - all the people screaming and cheeringEnergeticTrying our bestIntensityCourageSupporting each other

The weather for the AWD Athletics event couldn't have been better. The hot day produced some scintillating results. The whole Te Whare Ako team took part and enjoyed themselves immensely. 

Tearima overcame his fears and competed in the shot put and vortex for the first time. Sean too, showed ngakau to compete in the long jump and shot put. LJ continued his great form winning the boys shot put, Gabriel BK was second in the shot put and the long jump. 

Eniyah smoked the field, winning the girls discus and was second in the shot put. Festival was third in the girls javelin and discus. Our new Year 9 students also showed their talent, Hanikamu was second in the 400m and Breana was second in the girls long jump.

Finally Gab J was a "speed demon" with a fourth in the 200m and first in a hard run 400m. Ngā mihi nui to all the staff and whānau who support to make it an awesome day!
