Jacqueline Nordon —

Hilary was born and raised in Taranaki, and grew up in a loud, vibrant household filled with music and art. Both of her parents, whilst teachers and not artists, possessed artistic talent. It's no secret that Taranaki is an arty city and growing up in Taranaki, she was exposed to the wonderful arts scenes. These include the Govett Brewster Art Gallery, which showcases modern art from artists all over the world, the kinetic sculptures of Len Lye, and WOMAD among many others. Taranaki is also famous for its legendary music venue, the Bowl of Brooklands, and it was here that she spent much time at concerts, and other performing arts shows

From an early age, she was always interested in all aspects of art; Music, Photography, Sculpture, Dancing, Painting etc and produced many forms of terrible art and music, before finding her stride in painting. It appears that her brother possesses the musical talent, and she the visual talent!

Hilary is now the arts coordinator for Mana College and revels in the opportunity to be able to showcase her love for all aspects of art, and to be able to support those who do it.If you require any support for the artistic endeavours at Mana College, please get in touch at hilarym@mana.school.nz
