Sports Update

Amy Robinson —

Cricket

We were fortunate enough to have Cricket Wellington come in during one of our lunchtimes to run their annual biggest hitter competition. We had a great turnout from both our staff and students. Massive congratulations to Johnathan Harper-Wilson for taking out the student title.

Waka Ama

What a great day at Henley Lake, Masterton for our Waka Ama crews. Manaia and Mahe competed individually in their respective age groups coming away with notable successes. Our junior and senior girls' crews grew in confidence throughout the day to gain placings in their respective finals. We a very proud of all paddlers.

Ki o Rahi

We sent our mixed ki o rahi team to Kapiti College to compete in the CSW championships. This well-run event saw Mana College undefeated through pool play, quarter and semifinals. We then faced a tough Wainuiomata opponent in the final, unfortunately falling short of taking out the title. Silver for our team in what was a great day of competition.

Athletics

Nate Baker, Liam Kay & Floyd Pullan qualified and took to the challenge of competing at the CSW regional championships during the week. All three students competed with passion and gave their best efforts. We hope to build our athletics program and have more students qualifying in the coming years.
