Rugby Wrap up!

Richard Anderton —

15 aside rugby has officially finished now for us. With wins on Wednesday for our Girls over Aotea and our 1st XV winning the Carlos Spencer cup for the first time beating Waiopehu, Whanganui and Onslow Colleges to secure the cup.

We have had a very successful year in Rugby at Mana in 2020 and we are very excited about what 2021 will bring.

A few highlights:

  • 1st XV and under 15 playing in top divisions. The only Co-ed school in Wellington to do so.
  • Growth in girls numbers. Looking forward to having a 1st XV girls side and an U/15 girls side next year.
  • Introducing capping for the 1st XV. This has created a lot of interest and pride.
  • 2nd XV team making a return at Mana, competing in Prem 4.
  • Being 1 of only 2 co-ed schools not to default a game this season.

We are fortunate to have such a large number of good people working hard to assist the development of Rugby at Mana. Thank you to all coaches, managers, supporters and players who have contributed to Mana rugby this year. We look forward to your continued support as we continue our drive to be the number one Rugby school around.

We also want to thank and acknowledge sponsors of Mana rugby whose help is very much appreciated and has helped us look and perform professionally:
