On Monday, four Mana College students, Pirihira Balt, Nyjah Rohloff, Morgan Berry and Georgia Ellis took part in the Readers Cup. 

Taking place in Wellington for the first time, the Readers Cup asked students to read five pieces of recent NZ literature which ranged from detailed extended texts to graphic novels. 10 school teams from around Wellington then competed against each other in a quiz which tested their knowledge based on what they had read. 

The quiz was initially scheduled for an evening at Wellington East Girls’ College. However the return to Level 2 forced the competition online. Although Mana did not earn themselves a trip to the national competition in Auckland, the team performed admirably.
