Year 10 Science Trip to Titahi Bay

Anna Thornton —

On Tuesday the whole year 10 cohort went to Titahi Bay Beach for science.

Students participated in rotations where they identified species in the rockpools, created keys to classify shells, and learned about the wastewater treatment plant that services all of Porirua and enters the ocean next to the bay.

Despite a downpour of rain in the middle of the day, students were super engaged in learning about our local area and the organisms on our doorstep, which was awesome to see.

Next students will take their learnings back into the classroom to consider how we can ensure our local environment is carefully looked after!
