Whānau Day was a hit!

JEFF CHAPMAN —

Whānau Day and 30 year Celebration for Mana College Marae

Whānau day 2022 was held at the end of term 3 due to Covid disruptions at the beginning of the year. However, this did not change the essence and success of the day, which was all about connecting with each other, being inclusive, demonstrating the school values, and having lots of fun! There was plenty of friendly rivalry between the 4 different whānau and weather played its part, including a water slide on the fun run event. A slight change this year was the inclusion of some old school races like wheelbarrow, three legged and sack races. Plus we celebrated 30 years of the marae being onsite at Mana, where everyone walked away from the day with a piece of birthday cake.
