Keeping track of NCEA achievement

Students are encouraged to keep track of their progress in NCEA each year. There are a range of ways to do this:

  • The school student and parent portal (highly recommended) - https://portal.mana.school.nz/index.php

  • Level 1, 2 or 3 tracking sheets from their classroom teachers

  • Asking their Dean, Learning Advisor or the Principal’s Nominee for an NCEA printout from KAMAR

  • Visiting the NZQA student login facility. This requires the student’s National Student Number and an email address, and can be set up at school during Learning Advisory.

Trades Academy Courses

Want to try something different, but still want to stay at school? Trades Academy lets you enjoy both worlds. Your week will be made up of three days at school, and two days at Trades Academy studying one of the courses outlined below. All credits work towards you achieving NCEA Level 2, with the benefit of learning industry related skills and knowledge.

You can study courses at the WelTec (Petone) or Whitireia (Porirua) campus’, including a new campus in Wellington. Transport will be arranged for students to get to Petone and Wellington. If you are interested in one of these courses, you must fill out an additional application form. See your Dean for assistance with this.

Whitireia Trades Academy Programmes

See link for more detail about the courses on offer in 2023, that will more than likely be similar in 2024.

Let your LA teacher and Dean know if you are interested in these courses.
