This week we kicked off with our ‘Projects’.

Jeff Chapman —

The projects are covering multiple curriculum areas and will develop multiple 21st Century skills like critical thinking, leadership and creativity. The options include physical activity, technology, design, building, cooking/catering, mural painting, whakairo, Matauranga Māori and much more. For example our very own "Mana DIY Marae" is taking place, murals depicting purakau of Ngāti Toa iwi are being created, a coffee cart is being established and we have media teams covering all the action.

It is aimed at promoting positive "Mana" culture, based around the strengths and passions of both staff and students. It is a trial for some cross curricular planning and work that is intended to improve engagement, attendance & authentic place based learning.

We are aiming to have a celebration day to acknowledge all of the learning and work on Wednesday 6th December including a yr10 Market Day and yr9 Science Fair. You are more than welcome to attend this day to celebrate with us, and if you're interested in helping with any of the projects please the school know and we can provide some more details.
