We are Re-Digit, a Year 13 business studies group from Onslow College. We are participating in YES (the Young Enterprise Scheme) and have a goal of making electronics and computers more affordable by selling refurbished laptops at cheap prices. This will lower the digital divide and overall reduce the enormous amount of E-waste being emitted each year. Additionally, as our electronics are going to be very affordable, we are going to focus on helping students – especially those who might be disadvantaged – purchase good electronics at fair prices, helping them to save significant amounts of money. This will help out students and their whanau. This should also greatly improve the ability of lower-income or disadvantaged students to complete schoolwork and, thus, should improve the overall performance of schools in the Wellington Region.
