Indoor Bowls Success

Cam Fraser —

On Monday, four teams from Mana College competed in the AWD Indoor Bowls Championship. While all of them had undergone training before the event, it marked the first competitive experience for many of the students. The pairings of Tearima Katekeimoa and Chad Vickerstaff, Gabriel Broughton-Kingi and Nga Meh, Caitlyn Cheriton and Gabriel Johns, and Zariah Gay and Eli Ahern performed exceptionally well.

All four pairs successfully advanced beyond the round robin stage to reach the quarter-finals. From there, two of the teams proceeded to the semi-finals. Tearima and Chad, displaying great teamwork, narrowly missed out on reaching the final by just one point. Gab BK and Nga, however, dominated their semi-final, setting the stage for an exciting final showdown against the pair from Mahinawa School. Unfortunately, they couldn't maintain their winning streak, but they secured a close second place in the competition. It was an outstanding performance by all the teams, and we eagerly anticipate next year's event
