Principal's Award 23 November

Elmarie Els —

Ngākau

The following students received a Principal's award today for their display of ngākau

They got to share a healthy morning tea in the Principal's office and also received a certificate for their efforts.

Congratulations to:

Azaria Iti has been fantastic in 9PBC this week. Managing her work, and helping to organise the class' projects. Also helping those around her to manage themselves and know what to do!

Tearima Katekeimoa showed some great ngākau when the fire alarm went off, he was very scared of having to go outside, but he did manage for a short period. Then when he came back in he was very settled and not really bothered by it.  At the start of the year he was a different kid... incredibly anxious after a fire alarm went.

Thy Phan her emotional intelligence and ability to read herself and others. She regularly sets goals, even if she thinks that she doesn't, and is vocal when she wants to be challenged. I am especially proud of the way Thy has taken ownership over her Individual Learning Profile by working on it in her own time, and including personal stories and narratives that really help teachers understand her. Thy clearly cares about her learning and wants her teachers to know that.

Zion Rankin-O’Regan Helped Diana do a chemistry demonstration when she was having an observation. He did a very good job, made sure that all students could see the demonstration.  Zion  did a great job and he was very controlled and for him it was huge.

Ivason Tavai Has had a fantastic attitude in his new academy this term. Showing great self-management skills, respect and leadership especially when others around him may not be doing the sam

Luke Tingle He always tries his best, and effectively manager himself. He was away last week, and even though he missed a few lessons, he was able to catch up and plan his project.

Thi-Suong Vang display good self-management skills in all aspects of their school life and when needed, they step up to lead group activities during LA time. / Library - she’s the only girl in the Chess academy. It’s great to see how the boys all respect her and listen to her!
