For the next few terms, the school in partnership with Partners Porirua are going to provide opportunities for students to get their Learners and Restricted licence. The school will provide students with the opportunity to have driving lessons on Wednesdays so they can sit their Restricted. The school has also organised a programme so students can study their Learners Licence and sit the Test. The Learners courses started in the Term 1holidays and will run through the year.

The programme has started with the Building and Trade Academy students and will then look at other students (who need to get their licence)

In Term 3, the programme will also look at putting students through the Defence Driving course.

This is a great opportunity for students.

It will provide them with skills that will make them safer on the road.

Having a licence will also help students with employment.
