Principal's Address
Te Kiwa Nui - Polyfest 2023
Kia ora koutou
Talofa Lava, Melo le lei, Bula Vinaka, Noa’ia, Kia Orana and a warm Pacific greetings.
It was an absolute honour to host the 2023 Te Kiwa Nui - Polyfest today.
I would like to acknowledge this beautiful country that we live in; which allows us the opportunity to share the gift of cultural identity through song and dance; the opportunity to celebrate the rich culture of the Pacific in a safe and welcoming environment. We should never take this for granted.
Secondly. I would like to acknowledge the people who have supported our young people to take the stage…our teachers, our tutors, our parents, our drummers, our supporters who have been working night and day for months to prepare these young performers to take the stage. As well as the organizing committee, lead by Ms Marion Tuite for their hours of hard work.
Thirdly, I would like to acknowledge our performers who took to the stage today. In particular, I would like to acknowledge the performers who stepped out into the lights for the first time. They were nervous but they were strong and courageous and we are all very proud of you..
