Five of our senior students visit Parliament as part of the Youth Empowerment Project Horowhenua.

Mana Media —

On Wednesday 24th July, joined by 30 other young people from Horowhenua College and Waiopehu College, our students boarded the bus in Levin to head to Wellington.

They met Nathan Guy outside parliament and had their photo taken before going inside for a tour of the Parliament library and debating chamber.

They were then taken to the National Party Caucus Room and spent some time being spoken to and asking questions of Nathan Guy and Nikki Kaye.

After this, they went to National House for lunch hosted by Nathan Guy.  Here, they met National MPs Chris Bishop and Nicola Wills who spoke to the group about how they got into politics and then answered some questions.

After lunch, they headed back to parliament for Question Time before heading home.

The students really enjoyed the day, especially Question Time.

Thank you to Mr Hemmingson and Mrs Belk for organising the day for the students.
