Year 13 Camp 2020

Mana Media —

On Monday 9th March, a group of 44 Year 13 and International Students set off to the Manawatu College Outdoor Centre in Raurimu, for the annual Year 13 camp.

The camp was planned and organised by the students in the Year 13 Events Management class, who received three NCEA Level Three credits for their efforts.

On Tuesday the group headed to Taupo to ride the rapids of the Waikato river on the Huka Falls Jet Boat.  Lunch was a barbeque at De Bretts Thermal Pools where the students also enjoyed the hydro slides and hot pools before heading back to camp for dinner and an early night.

On Wednesday the group stayed more local and went caving in the Okupeta caves as well as indoor rock climbing and mini golf at National Park.

On Thursday the group set off to Rotorua to Skyline Skyrides for a day of riding the Gondola, the Luge, The Sky Swing and the Zipline, before a group dinner at Gengy's.

Thank you to Miss Tucker, Mr O'Sullivan, Nathan and Mr Southwood for ensuring that the camp was a success as well as a huge thank you to everyone in the community who supported the fundraising efforts and donated food for the camp.
