Year 9 Noho

Emma Green —

Making the transition into College life can be daunting for some and so one of the first events on the calendar is the year 9 overnight noho.

On Thursday 4th February all of the College's year 9 students embarked on an overnight camp at the Foxton Beach Bible Camp.  After school on Thursday all of the year 9 students began the long, hot walk from school to the beach with their peer support leaders.

Upon arrival there was an afternoon full of fun activities for the students to enjoy. The activities included 'energiser' and team building activities, which encouraged the students to get to know their peers and the other students that they would be spending their college lives with.

After dinner everyone got changed into their house colours and we played a few rounds of crazy softball and capture the flag. This gave everyone the chance to get to know other students from their house as well as having some fun.

The following day we made the trek back to school and cooled off with a  BBQ lunch and a swim in the pool. The camp was a great opportunity for the year 9s to get to know their peers, school leaders and Homeroom teachers.
