ROLE CHANGES FOR DEANS & GROUP TEACHERS

Mana Media —

From week six of term three, the primary responsibility for the pastoral care of our students shifted to year-level deans and coaches. Pastoral care includes monitoring academic progress, subject selection, and following up attendance, uniform and behavioural issues.

The main reason for the change is that the Senior Leadership Team and the House Deans think students would be better served by a 'specalist' dean at their level with an expert knowledge and understanding of the various aspects associated with the level.

A second reason is that 'issues' that arise between students of the same year level can more easily be resolved by one dean, rather than having up to four House deans involved.

House deans and mentor group teachers will remain the same and will continue to be responsible for inter-House activities.

WHO ARE THE LEVEL DEANS?

Mrs Carolyn Allan & Mrs Annie Tatana continue as co-deans of year 13;

Ms Bobbi Dobbins (Allen House dean) is dean of year 12;

Mrs Pip Mapuilesua (Field House dean) is dean of year 11;

Mr Waynne Napier (Robertson House dean) is dean of year 10;

Mrs Kathrine Mitchell, Assistant Principal Junior School will be responsible for year 9.
