Shae Gray attends Hurricanes U18 Super Rugby Coaching Camp in Napier over the holidays.

The camp was held at Napier Boys High School and ran from Monday 9th July through to Monday 16th July.

There were a number of resource coaches and personnel in attendance as well as Hurricanes coaching staff who provided players with information and coaching both on and off the field.

A big focus of the camp was around understanding the requirements of what is needed to become a professional rugby player. This included developing an individual performance plan, technical, tactical and positional coaching, nutrition, mental skills and an academy pathway presentation.

This year, for the first time the players played in a game against a Blues U18 camp team on Sunday 15th July.  Shae set up the winning try in the last minute of this game, with a blockbusting run and miraculous offload to his wing for the try.

Well done Shae.
