Seven students are recognised with Sporting Merit and Excellence badges in the first Assembly of the term!

Year 11 students Ani Karanga-Puhi and Trinity Richards were awarded their Sporting Merit badges for their selection in the Under 15 Horowhenua Kapiti Rugby Girls Representative team 2019.

Karlissa Murphy-Lahina was awarded a Sporting Merit badge for her selection in the Under 18 Horowhenua Kapiti Rugby Girls Representative team 2019.

Year 11 students Kendall Bambery and Shelby Wells were awarded Sporting Merit badges for their achievements at the Central North Island Weightlifting Championships.

Kendall competed in the U55kg division with a competition best snatch, best snatch & clean and jerk and a competition best total.  Shelby competed in the U59kg division with a competition best snatch.

Year 11 student Miniah Summerell also competed in this competition and broke three records in the 81+kg (Youth) 87+kg division.   She was awarded a Sporting Excellence badge for her achievements.

Year 13 student Caitlin O’Sullivan was awarded a Sporting Excellence badge for being selected by Netball NZ and High-Performance Sport NZ for the 2019 Pathway to Podium Programme.
