The 2019 New Zealand Open Championships in Cable Wakeboarding were hosted at Onehunga Bay Reserve on the 9-10th March 2019.

On Saturday, 9th March, the competitors in each division performed tricks on the sliders and kickers on the water, lasting either two laps (two times the 150m cable run forth and back) or until the rider falls twice. The best 4 – 8 wakeboarders in every division then qualified to the finals on Sunday 10th March.

The competitors were judged by a panel of experienced judges,  on technical difficulty, the use of the course, style, execution and amplitude. 

Year 10 student, Jazlyn Wells placed third in the Junior Girls (11 – 14) division and year 13 student, Harry Wells placed third in the Junior Men's (14 – 18) division.
