Congratulations to former Head Student, Massie Harvey who has achieved the Gold Duke of Edinburgh Award!

The Award is an international non-formal education framework, challenging young people to dream big and discover their potential.

Massie achieved his Bronze DOE in year 11.
This involved three months of voluntary service in the community (coaching and managing the local rugby club), physical recreation (he played touch and basketball), learning and developing a new skill (coached and mentored students to learn karate), and an adventurous journey (two nights tramping)In year 12, he achieved his Silver DOE which involved six months of all of the above as well as four nights tramping.

In year 13, he achieved his Gold DOE which involved 12 months of all of the above as well as six nights tramping and completing a residential project (Spirit of Adventure) .He will be awarded his gold badge and certificate by the Governor General Cindy Kiro at Government House next year.
