Lower North Island Secondary Schools Netball Tournament 2019

This year, the annual, week-long tournament took place at the ASB Sports Centre in Wellington.

The girls who represented Manawatu College this year were Saryah Chambers,  Skye Chambers, Rachel Hata, Ani Karanga-Puhi, Te Ahi Kunaiti, McKenzie Laursen, Kiandra McLean, Tiana Meroiti, Caitlin O'Sullivan, Keely-Rae Puklowski, Kaydence Ross, Aaliyah Thorby and Brooke Whittaker.  They were coached by Mrs Mapuilesua and managed and supported by past pupils Karlissa Murphy-Lahina and Carla Whittaker.  

They lost their first game on day one against a Viard/St Catherine's invitational team, 45-31.  They won their second game, against Samuel Marsden Whitby, 57-13.

Their first game on day two was against Taita College.  They lost in a close game, 37-32.  In game two, they went down against Central Hawkes Bay College, 43 - 21.

On day three they went down in their first game against Mana College, 40-32 .  They then beat Nga Tawa College in the next game, 30-26.

On day four the girls beat Onslow College, 27-18 in the quarter-finals and Cornerstone Christian School, 31-24 in the semi-finals.

On the final day of the tournament, the girls played off for 17/18th out of 28 teams. They beat Waiopehu College in their final and came away with a 33-26 win, finishing 17th overall.
