GRIP Leadership Conference 2016
Our nine senior student leaders spent a day at the GRIP Leadership Conference in Wellington towards the end of term one, developing their role as student leaders.
The key messages were:
- ‘the overall goal requires my contribution and different peoples contributions are required at different times’;
- ‘a leader should not be judged by their attributes, but rather by what they contribute’; and
- ‘for your team to make the greatest contribution to your school, you need to contribute in all aspects of prescribed, perpetual and pinnacle tasks’.
Our leaders attended different workshops on being a team that contributes, contributing to your leadership team, how to make your speeches dynamic, how to make your events dynamic, how to motivate others and making meetings effective.
It was an interactive and inspirational day and our leaders were an absolute credit to our college. Well done!
