Year 13 student Jessika Tuhou and year 10 student Mahanga Stewart-Wirangi represented Manawatu College at this year's Nga Manu Korero speech competition, held at Hato Paora College.

Jessika competed in the Senior English speech contest and her topic was ' Challenge the status quo to seek a different reality'.

Mahanga competed in the Junior English speech contest and his topic was, 'I tried to keep quiet but my ancestors wouldn’t let me'.

They were both outstanding in a very tough competition and received a lot of positive comments and feedback from the judges.  

Our junior and senior Te Reo Maori classes also attended the competition, to tautoko Jessika and Mahanga.
