Manawatu College First XV and Development XV create history by becoming the first Manawatu College teams to win a HKRFU Super 6 title!

On Wednesday 28th March the HKRFU Super 6 Rugby competition kicked off.

Round one got off to a great start for Manawatu College with 
Rahui defaulting to our Development team and the 1st XV defeated Waiopehu College,  34-17. Top games from Paolo Mura, Caleb O'Reilly, Isaac Laracy and Ilisoni Rauhihi.

In round two, the First XV beat Kapiti College, 52 - 17 and the Under 15 team beat Waiopehu College, 32-20.

There jubilant scenes at Playford Park in the final round as our Development XV and our First XV created history by becoming the first Manawatu College teams to win a Super 6 title!

The Development XV beat Horowhenua College Under 15s 41-39 and the First XV beat Paraparaumu First XV 45-12.

Teacher –in-charge of Rugby at Manawatu College, Waynne Napier, attributes the teams good early season form to the colleges fitness & conditioning programme, which has seen between 50 -70 students participating every school day since early February.
