Induction and Orientation Week 2022

Mana Media —

After the challenges we all faced in 2020 and 2021 with COVID-19, it was important that we started 2022 on a high note and that the first experience of school was one that focused on building positive relationships for learning.

On the first induction day, we welcomed our new students with a pōwhiri, then spent time with Academic Coaches and Deans who helped with setting their goals for the year.

Day two saw our students participate in House activities as well as activities around our values. The very hot day ended with a free swim.

On day three, students participated in more values activities and the annual Tabloid Sports competition in the afternoon. In this competition, students compete in their Houses in a range of fun challenges and activities designed to promote teamwork and bring everyone together.

On day four, the students participated in passion projects, that included learning how to tie knots, building rafts, board games, digital gaming, making a memory box, baking and making gingerbread houses.

The final day began with round two of the passion projects and later that afternoon we held our Inter-House Tug of War competition - congratulations to Robertson House who won the event and Field House who won the House Spirit trophy! Field House placed second overall and Allen and Morris placed third equal.

Congratulations to the following students who were nominated by their teachers for displaying the school values throughout the week.
