The annual visit from our sister city of Narita, Japan is rapidly approaching and preparations are well under way.
Our visitors arrive on Thursday 17th August at approximately 3.15pm at Manawatu College.
They experience a full school powhiri welcome on Friday 18th August and enjoy a day of activities around Foxton and Levin.
They enjoy free time with their host families on the Sunday and there is a farewell party and cultural presentation in the evening at school.
Our visitors depart for home on Sunday 20th August.
Sensei Yuka Mizutani and her Japanese classes have made the featured welcome banners for the tour group.
There are 3 parts to these banners. The first part was made by the year 9 Japanese class and it says, "People/visitors from Narita City".
The second part was done by the year 10 Japanese class and it says, "to Manawatu College".
The last one was done by the year 11 Japanese class and it says "Welcome!" with the flags and the character of Narita called Unari.
We are very excited to see our visitors!
