"What are your thoughts about giving under-18s alcohol?” “Wouldn’t do it ever? Special occasions only? Only if at dinner with family? Might give them a couple of beers or RTDs? My teens are responsible? Better to get controlled amount from parents?”
There are many different opinions and practices out there, and a group of Horowhenua agencies (including schools, Council, Health, Iwi, Police) are interested in your thoughts on the matter.
Below is a link to an on-line survey exploring parents’ attitudes around this topic. This should only take 3-4 minutes to complete and have your say. It is totally anonymous and confidential and, as well as providing us information, there is also the opportunity to enter a draw for a $100 grocery voucher.
Entry for the voucher draw can be via the internet or text message.
If you do not have access to reliable internet, a printed copy of the survey can be obtained from the school or from Te Takere or Life To The Max and then returned on completion via school etc office – or supplied Stamped Addressed Envelope.
This is the link: https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/3S3HNB5
The survey is for parents of underage teenagers (i.e. 12 – 17 years old) and the agencies hope as many parents of teens as possible will complete it. It will close on 30th June 2017.
