Sam Hansen breaks records by Mana Media
Mana Media — March 19, 2017
Sam competed in the Olympic Weightlifting Champions League at 41 Degrees Weightlifting Club in Wellington on Sunday 19th March.
Last month Sam had broken three New Zealand records in Weightlifting at a competition in Wellington. Unfortunately she was informed later that week that they would not count as New Zealand records as there was not a Level One Weightlifting Judge present at event. As disappointed as Sam was she decided to let it go.
On Sunday 19th March she competed again in Wellington where she scraped in the under 63kg category. This time there is a Level One judge present and she has broken two New Zealand records with a 86kg clean & jerk (record was 81kg), and a total of 151kg (record was 147kg).
She missed the snatch record by 1kg. Her coach Shayne Nation is, "Super proud of the way she has come back after the disappointment!"
Below is the video of her 86kg (a personal best lift) clean and jerk.
Well done, Sam!
