On 8 and 9 May two groups of keen chess players headed to Nelson to engage in a day of strategic battle on the chess board.

This year we sent two large groups to the  annual "Chess Power" tournaments.  These tournaments give all players a chance to spend the day engaged in battle on the chess board.

Everyone is catered for - with a rookies division for those who have not played in a tournament before.  Our students represented the school beautifully and showed a high level of sportsmanship throughout the tournament. 

Congratulations to Cassie Cameron, who was awarded the top girl in the Intermediate Division.
