The Toetoe tamariki are great explorers but just what can they find in our village?

On Tuesday last week, Toetoe were presented with a challenge... could they find some well known places around our village using only small, partial-picture clues? Tricky!! With the help of our Maire reading buddies we set off to see what we could find. 

Each group of three children were given a sheet of clues and all had a sense of adventure. Our Year 5&6 buddies supported our small explorers by asking them questions and giving hints when necessary, but they found that our five year olds knew a lot! Together the teams discovered over 12 well known landmarks. They could name them all and suggest activities that took place there. Super sleuths!

The search ended in the Mapua Community Library and the buddies enjoyed sharing a book or two before heading back to school. Toetoe would like to say "Thank you Maire!! You are awesome helpers!"

Toetoe are keen to keep exploring. We wonder what we will discover next?
