Karaka and Maire entered the Motueka Library Haiku Writing competition and achieved success.

'The Team at Motueka Library have had such a wonderful time reading the amazing Haiku from Mapua School' was the comment we received from Janine Gillions, one of the librarians at the Motueka Library. The following students won spot prizes for their work: Niamh Chalmers, Brooke Mundy, Bindi Briggs, Joseph Cameron, Isla Hill and Malia Denny. 'We are inviting anyone to read their Haiku or a Haiku they enjoy at Motueka Library Wednesday 28th October, 5.50-6.30pm'

Continuing with our success Isla Hill took it upon her self to enter a similar competition at Richmond Public Library and WON first prize with her haiku.  Well done Isla and all the students who gave this a go.
