Senior Team Staff
JESS BOLTON – Manuka
— Year 5/6 — janderson@mapua.school.nz
My name is Jess Anderson and I am very excited to be joining the rest of the wonderful staff here at Mapua School.
I originally grew up in Nelson before studying and teaching in Christchurch and then finally moving back to the wonderful Nelson/Tasman area. Previously I had been teaching at Riwaka School, based mainly in the year 5-8 Team for the last 6 years.
I love living in the Tasman area and getting outside and enjoying our beautiful beaches and national parks. I am very passionate about teaching and learning and feel very privileged to work as a teacher. I can often be found dancing up a storm. Dance and Drama are just a few of my teaching passions, as well as EOTC, Physical Education, Literacy and Mathematics.
I love a good laugh and am open to trying new things, I love a challenge. I believe wholeheartedly in providing as many authentic and awesome opportunities for our students as school is more than just learning, it is about growing individuals to be life long learners.
SARAH TROLLE – Maire
— Year 5/6 — strolle@mapua.school.nz
Kia ora. I am very excited to join the Mapua School teaching team for 2018. I have been a teacher for over 20 years and have taught many age levels in both Westport and Nelson during my career.
I am lucky enough to live near Jester House and Kina Beach with my husband Lance and my two children, Sienna and Luca. Sienna is a year 5 student at Mapua School and Luca just started school at the beginning of this year with me. They are both a bit excited to have their mum at the same school as them!
I am originally from the West Coast of the South Island, but most of my family have now seen the light and have moved to Nelson. Along with the sun I enjoy the beautiful beaches in Nelson, paddleboarding, running, photography and kitesurfing.
I have a strong passion for visual art and nearly went to art school in Otago instead of becoming a teacher.
I feel very fortunate to teach at the wonderful school Lance and I chose for our children.
ANNA BREWER– Ngaio - Team Leader
— Year 5/6
abrewer@mapua.school.nz
I am originally from Riwaka and still live there today. While I have spent time away studying in Otago and Christchurch, and travelling around North America and Asia, there is no place quite like the Tasman region!
Throughout my study it was always my dream to return to this area and teach so I am beyond excited to be part of the Mapua school and community for 2018. I love the happy, friendly vibes you get from walking around the school and the passion for the education of the tamariki of Mapua.
I have a personal passion for music, dance and drama which I love to use in the classroom. I also enjoy getting outside for PE, developing individual and team skills.
In my spare time I like exploring our beautiful national parks on foot, enjoying our wonderful beaches and rivers, playing volleyball with my friends and family and reading a good book.
