Cockroaches in the class???

Last week Kowhai started their enquiry topic on Mini Beasts. The first question was: What is a Mini Beast?  This question was not as simple as it seems, but we got it sorted.

While in the library, Grace found a cockroach and the class decided that they wanted to find out more about these creatures. 

First, we wanted to go searching for them around our school but we didn't find any.  So, we went onto the internet and started researching. We discovered that they like to live in damp warm places. So after lunch, we created our own Cockroach Hotel and then researched more information and we discovered that cockroaches like to eat meat and plants so they are called Omnivores and that they have wings but aren't very good at flying.
